This is the Deluxe Slipcase version of The Children of Húrin published in 2007 by Harper Collins. “The Tale of the Children of Húrin” (Narn i Chîn Húrin) was published in “Unfinished Tales” and is likely the most important of the stories in the Tolkien universe (the possible exception being “The Tale of Beren and Lúthien”). The implications of this story were far reaching; extending to virtually every corner of Arda, including Dagor Dagorath (the final battle). About 250 of these were released with a bookplate signed by Christopher Tolkien and Alan Lee. This, unfortunately, is not one of them.
Note the Dragon-helm of Dor-lómin (Also known as the Helm of Hador) most notably worn by Túrin, son of Húrin. The image of it is stamped on the side of the slipcase/book. This was, I believe, drawn by Alan Lee.
